Good Morning!

yep, trump will build walls, and that will solve the "to the south" moving north issue.....and no one is crazy enough to come over the north....or they shouldn't be....LOL.
our 3 or 4 clawed lobsters will get them off the east coast and the orcas will eat them off the west. so. our borders should be okay. as for getting in shape...highly overrated. LOL.

you will rapidly find you need one of everything. you'll need a varmint gun (.22/.22LR or similar) great for skunks and coons. you'll need a turkey gun (12g; 20g at minimum). you'll need a whole pile of choke tubes for said 12g, so it can also be duck and goose and bunny and pheasant and grouse gun. then you'll need something bigger for the major predators...270 or so....so at the MINIMUM you'll NEED 3 guns. and a crossbow for the days you want to be quiet. and if you like the smell of gun powder get a muzzleloader. it can also double as a deer gun. LOL.
so that's what....4? plus a crossbow. sounds about right. but of course, you will probably NEED something else as well!

You need a pellet gun: for the days when visitors come over and you want to impress them with your shooting skills; and then they say "let me try that"

You guys are a load full of info. Wow!! I'm going to go to the gun shop once I have some time to spare. I'll likely call and warn them I'm coming because man I ask a lot of questions.
I was also going to see if I can go to the gun club (I'll be joining for target practice anyways ... Up and coming Canadian Sniper right here!. Maybe not) and try some because really, I think it's all in how it feels. Of course acknowledging it's purpose but there are these rifles that fold. I was impressed! But maybe a shotgun is best. See...so much to still learn.

We haven't decided if I'm a left shooter or right shooter for handguns. Semi automatic felt good right, but the double action revolver felt best when it was left. So I need to play with that for a bit too. I did like the double action. Semi automatic is a bit intimidating for me right now. just the magazine popping out stressed me out lol. So no semi automatics for a while.

Definitely want to get into the Bows. I actually loved the one they had there. Very very cool!

So there is a gun safe on sale @ TSC. Thoughts?

http://www.tscstores.com/10-GUN-SECURIT ... uhIHfCs-rU

It's on for $140, regular $270. Thoughts?? Sale ends tonight.

Baron, we have a BB. I'm not going to tell you the situation, but I can say a bullseye is not a problem with me!

Yep, looks Like the same cabinet I have. What's the law on storing ammo separate from the gun? I oil and clean guns after use: then you store them barrel down so oil runs out and doesn't gum up action.

Morning all! Boy, I've got a lot of catching up on here to do! No time until Friday so it will have to wait. Bunch of sickies at work, so I'm working third shift straight through from last week until Friday. 8 hours of literal running every night and the point where Aleve doesn't even begin to help, came a couple days ago.
Thank you WLLady for the sweet potato slips, they are fabulously healthy and are humming away in used coffee cups of soil in the window sill. Thank you also to Baron and Tom for the taxi service, and to Tom for the lovely visit! He's sharp as a tack, that one, I think I like him :) Congratulations to all with new babies including the hilarious gangly foal, and congratulations to Sandy on passing her restricted! WLLady is wrong, you only need two guns, but they tend to be like chicken math.

You can store your ammo separate or if with your guns in safe must be in locked container inside safe . As far as safes to me they all can be broken into or taken away & they just give thieves one place to go for all your guns .

Thanks Baron and Tom!!!! Love it, delivery service! the BEST ever!

i forgot that with the restricted you will need a handgun. NEED. lol. it's all NEED isn't it? i said i wanted a 12g. i would only ever need a 12g. HA! jokes on me! sandy, you will never run out of things to ask for christmas, birthdays, just because days....LOL

so, waupooscowgirl...you will then have the answer.....why DID the chicken(s) cross the road?? (sorry i couldn't resist). That sucks. really. 300 acres....sigh. some days i think i have chicken behaviour figured out. then they do something new. and i'm right back at square 1. mine will all come running to sunflower seeds in a small unmarked container...maybe that will get them home again (when the road is clear of traffic).

just spoke with the surgeon's office. looks like things are moving at about the speed of sludge....so i am going to book dates for the bbq....and couple that with a visit to family in quebec. and take a week or two off this summer. at least my dad in laws 80th birthday party in germany can go ahead with no worries whatsoever! i really don't want my hubby to miss that one.

holy crap. it's noon already.
geez. time flies when one sleeps 2 hours last night, for some stupid reason, and then wakes up to a huge thunderstorm.....this day is flying by! this weekend i am moving out some birds, sad. having to let go of some of the breeds i've worked hard on....i am setting some eggs from some because chicks are easier to care for, but only a few.....i've already let the leghorns go, and several easter eggers, 12 went last weekend....and another bunch going this weekend. i am aiming to be down to just my show lines of wheaten marans and black tailed buff marans (if the boys stop killing themselves), and my black gold project line, and the welbars and rhodebars. i need welsummers and rhode islands for the welbar and rhodebar project, but that will be minimal flocks...3 birds each. sigh. probably only 30 birds or so when it's all done. unless of course micah has a blue wheaten ameraucana she's be willing to part with...um.....(right after i had accepted the fact that i was going to part with them....)
