There seem to be all sorts of tricks to it, of which I know none,
but this is a good picture to show the difference between well posed bird and one not so much.
Well positioned bird...
not so much
Looks like there are hinges on the "Photo Booth" , Al you are working on that, right?

We will just need detailed info on how you did it.

ALso one thing you can do is practice using some type of reflective surface to bounce light back onto the bird so the judge can see the feathering well. Doesn't have to be fancy even a plain white piece of Bristol board can help. The $ store has Bristol Board so you can make up a quick, cheap photo booth.

Hey its one of those "other red birds"

hahaha couldnt resist, great looking bird!!!
is there a front or top to stop the bird from escaping? or is it just that the bird is accustomed to standing in this size of area to begin with? that looks awesome! Thanks for sharing!

The top is open. But netting could be added.
The chickens are pretty calm in the booth. There are lights and the camera is on a tri pod.
Often there are two more people on either side of the camera. We just let the bird walk about. They are very curious and stop and look about.
Thanks thegawd. This is an old picture but she did produce good chicks.
