Am I the only one that can see the voting results so far?
Everyone can see the voting results.
The update to the new version last weekend meant we lost the hiding feature. That was the only feature we lost. The developers for that add on are "working" on the update of their code to the new system, but I guess that might come in 2018.
I didn't want to wait that long because there are a few improvements in this system that make it worth while the update:
- you can use the icons on phones and tablets in posts now (2/3 rds of visitors use those devices).
- there are a few important improvements on the server side (that's the english ross doesn't speak
)
- there are improvements to the page load method that are important to dialup users.
- there are extensions in development that you will like very much, but need the new version. The @ mention for example will come back in the near future.
Also, I didn't see much of an issue with showing the result before the end of the month. I don't think it changes the way one votes or if one votes. So the result shouldn't be much different.
I am certainly open for discussion that will guide my decision for the next time one of these big updates are coming in two or three years.
For this one I waited since January with the update until the features we were using most were updated to the new version. Exception (and cause for discussion on the admin level) was the hiding feature in polls. I monitored the development team and their updates or proposed timelines and came to the conclusion that it's not in our favour to wait any longer.
Sorry, this post got longer than I wanted it to be.
Happy, I didn't read your question as a "what's going on here?" but rather wanted to use it as the starting point for an explanation of why.
