Happy, you almost make me want a banty chicken in the house LOL. he's very cute....and doesn't look like he gets into too much trouble either! especially if he's managed to house train himself!

Thank-you!
I NEVER set out to have a house chicken. Just sort of how things played out. Happy couldn't stand for the first 2 1/2 weeks of his life because he hatched with severe wry neck. I read that it could/should be a relatively fast fix with vitamins. Wasn't the case. But I grew so attached and saw minor improvements and couldn't give up on him. Now I can't imagine not having him around. And honestly he makes far less mess in the house than 2 dogs and 2 cats do. The worst he does is fling cat kibbles all over the floor when I forget to pick them up. The daily cleaning of his cage is easier than the Kitty litter. All that being said if something happened to him I wouldn't run out to the coop and bring another one inside...he's special

Not a lot. His cage gets covered every night and I'm usually up by 5:30-6 every morning but he doesn't make a peep until about 8 when he starts whining to get out. First he runs for his "coffee" (niblet corn kept in the fridge) then he lights up crowing for 10-15 mins. Most days he has another yodelling session around 4-5pm for a few minutes. He does his rooster warning at night if a dog barks or he sees headlights driving by lol.

What a character. I'm assuming that bantams are quieter than LF chickens, so he's not terribly loud ... or that not the case?

Oh he's loud enough! It's kind of high pitched so a little more fingernails on chalkboard if you're not used to it. He and hubby do a great "what's up!" routine that I must video some day but if I share it he may be committed lol...hubby that is
