Three frequent guests are paying their bill in a restaurant. They each pay $10 for their order, but since all don't have any more money with them, they tell the waiter that they will give him a tip when they come back next time. The owner of the restaurant is coming back a minute after the three guests have left and wants to know where they are. The appetizer the guests shared was supposed to be on the house. So he asks the waiter to run after the guests and return the $5 for the appetizer. When the waiter catches up with the guests, they decide that each guest gets $1 and the waiter $2 as the tip.
So now each guest has paid $9 *3 =$27 plus the $2 tip = $29.
But they paid $30 at the beginning. Where is the missing $1?

Well, the $1 is spread out into the $9 because $25/3 is $8.33 not $9
.33x3=1 (almost)

Well, they were out 30$ when they left..the waiter comes back and gives them 5$ so now they are out 25$... Doesn't matter how it is split...they take the 5$ , each keep 1$ and give the waiter 2$...theres no missing dollar

I think this kind of scenario is how cashiers get bamboozled out of cash by the "if i give you five loonies..blah blah blah" scam

Game time!
Harry and Sally thought of a new game. They have put 100pcs 1cent coins on the table. The rules are: one after the other removes between 1 and 6 coins from the stack. The one that removes the last coin wins. The next round they don't have to remove the same amount of coins as in the last round.
Sally starts to remove the coins.
What is her strategy to win for sure?

Clearly, because Sally is a very smart women. She just picks up the money, pockets it and smirks. End of game.
