No Google allowed.

How many kilometers does a bee hive have to fly to collect 1 kg of honey?

The stats say:
It takes approximately 200.000 trips for the bees to collect enough for own consumption, brood rearing and 1kg of honey. Average distance : 750m or 1/2 mile.
So that's 160.000km / 100.000 miles
Or 4 times around the world!

(oh and for those non germans-the periods in the numbers are actually commas.....so 160,000 km or 100,000 miles)
