I'll have a go......... my guesses are........ the lake is 50 m in diameter, and the river flows 0.1 km per minute or 5.99 km/per hour. But they are guesses, I've forgotten all my math and physics.

Enough of those math questions for a while.....

How about another picture one?

Cut the attached picture along the dashed lines into 3 pcs (2 horses and 1 with two riders). Then arrange them such that they make 2 complete horses and riders. You are not allowed to cut any further, fold, twist, or otherwise mangle the pictures.

Wait!...lol...if the lake is perfectly round and you start at the exact northwest corner and swim east for 30 meters then south for 40 you are tempting pythagoras but how does that make the 50 meter side go thru the center of the circle..does the hypotenus (sp) always go thru the center of a circumscribed circle on a right angled triangle?

No, actually I'd count the people in the church and the lights in the chandelier/lamps (125). The church is a half circle shape so aisles are uneven making it challenging. Or I was an alterboy. (Many jokes come to mind about priests and alterboys, but i don't want to get tossed out of here...)

But starting at northwest is exactly half way between west and north and thenhe turns 90 degrees so pythagoreus applies....

Two runners are competing against each other. They are both equally fast walking and equally fast running. But they differ in their race strategy.
The first runner walks the first halve of the distance, then runs the second halve.
The second runner walks the first halve of the race time, then runs the second halve.

Who gets to be the first one at the finish line?
The first runner is first at the finish line. They both arrive at the line at the same time, but the "first" runner (lets name him First, is still named First at the end).
