Also make sure that you really want fuzzies running around at this time of year. End of July hatch so brooding until mid September. Do you already have brooder supplies? I would recommend Millpond too even with the drive. No stress at all.

You can also buy layer chicks direct from them. @JimW got some meat chicks from them last year and he was happy with them.
I only keep the incubator and hatcher for emergencies now. Let's say that when DH asked me last weekend whether I would be sleeping on the couch next to the hatcher I realised I might just have an OCD problem!

Thanks for your input everyone! It surely does help. Even if I get an incubator now, it doesn't mean that I would be using it right away. We have a couple of brooder pens - one large to hold 40 meat chickens, and one smaller to hold 10 turkeys.
