I have hens my rooster got a weird adema in his stomach and died vet gave him meds but said it probably wouldn't help and it didn't. I am supposed to get one from quebec in the spring.

I am sorry you lost your rooster Mel :sad: . Mine just died yesterday and am trying some difference resources to find another. Are you getting one from DC Heritage Poultry by any chance?

back about year ago I seen an ad up north on kijiji for a free rooster mine was fine then so I didn't get him but in hind sight I should have. I cant find anyone in Ontario with them or that sees my ads only option is dc or order eggs from out west or the states. love the chicks there really cool how many hens do you have? let me know if you find anyone with them or ill let you know in my search if I find anything how are your showgirls doing?

and of course the real kick in the teeth was all the chicks I hatched were hens lol. what did yours die from?

Always the way, when you don't need one you find one. I always like to have an extra rooster but when I got them it was only a pair. I do have a lead on someone out west that has a group of them for sale but they do ship live birds, so am on a list for Spring for eggs but would still like to find another rooster in the meantime....

The showgirls and silkies I got from you are doing great! They all turned out to be hens I got two from madison as well and they both turned out to be cockerels.
