Need to find new home for my girls :(

Post by Mama Red Star » Tue Nov 14, 2017 2:12 pm

Hi everyone,

My boyfriend and I were hit with some terrible news last week. Our landlord lost her home to the bank and we are being forced to move by end of January. It's highly unlikely I will be able to take my girls and roo with me.   Does anyone know of a farm that would take them in temporarily? If not, I will need to find them a loving new home. We're a year out from being able to buy our first home, so this really sucks...

Hopefully you'll find someone closer to you.

But I am a possibility. I live north of Kingston and have an extra coop, so your birds will be isolated from mine. I looked after some leghorns temporarily last winter in that same coop for my friend's parents.

So keep looking, chances are you'll find someone close by. But I could be a last resort if you need it.

Thanks treerooted! We were lucky to find someone only 15 mins away who took our entire flock last night. I feel good knowing they're going to a nice big coop, but it was still a sad day for me. It was a lot harder to let them go than I thought it would be!
