I guess it depends on what you breed them to but included in their remarkable heritage, Blue, Pattern gene, white, Columbian and diluted all of the above. :) but Wyandottes for sure, great breed excellent foragers, go about their business with diligence and determination, not too fond of photo shoots ;)

Will they get along with banty's?

I might have room if it doesn't cause friction in the hen house :yay:

Cheers

I've never had bantys but these girls are very laid back. Can anyone answer this question?

It depends on the personality and pecking order position of both, and not the size. I've got a bantam hen that can be a holy terror to birds that are, literally, ten times her size.
Established birds will usually bully newly introduced birds no matter how large they are, to keep position in the pecking order. New birds in a new environment are almost always bottom rung just from being unsure, and will have to earn their way up.

I agree with WWW. It has more to do with personality and breed than size. My girl Weezy (OEGB) used to boss the Cochin hens and a couple of the barred rock girls. I do think she had fallen down the pecking order with age or possibly illness and that's where problems started for her. I won't hesitate continuing to have a mixed size flock moving forward.

I just purchased a light Sussex and columbian wyandotte on Saturday. They are currently being introduced to the rest of my girls and Oliver - my EE Rooster. Introductions aren't going as well as they could; but early days yet. If this goes well, I might be able to take a couple more....if I don't end up in divorce court first...lol.....

Thanks for the input.....

Cheers,

I just wanted to update everyone. I was lucky enough to have picked up these girls and I just wanted to say how wonderful they really are! They fit right into my flock and have been enjoying my EE Rooster Oliver (well, not sure if enjoying is the right word).

If @Killerbunny ever offers anyone of her birds again - I'd highly recommend grabbing them! She's wonderful to deal with and her place is awesome, her birds are happy, healthy, and well looked after. All-in-all a great experience.

Cheers,

(Sorry I can't figure out how to turn the pictures correctly :rubbingchin: )

I will also say you guys were great to deal with and a lot of fun. One of those days when you find out you have so much in common! DH is very happy that Snow White is with you.
