Your location: St. Catherines

Description
Canadian Food Inspection Agency has a notification published on July 7th 2016 that H5 Avian Influenza has been found on a duck farm near St. Catherines.
Quarantine of that farm and the area are in place.

Read the full announcement here: http://news.gc.ca/web/article-en.do?nid=1095909
and here: http://www.agcanada.com/daily/ontario-d ... -avian-flu

We would like to remind everyone of proper bio-safety procedures when:
  • buying/selling/transporting birds
  • handling your own birds
  • visiting fellow bird enthusiasts
Also to keep records of your bird sales/purchases as well as travel routes.

We hope that the duck farmer can make it through the tough time and that the CFIA was a step ahead and able to quarantine in time before it can spread.

Be vigilant!
