Who would have thought it would be such a hard decision to let go of a variety I actually came by somewhat accidentally?
They are such good looking birds, and I am honest with myself, the Blues have a better type then my Columbians, so hopefully I have managed to insert some of that in to the Columbians via the Blue Columbian outcross.
Had a bit of a chuckle at my own expense, although by letting Hamish go, I have ended my line of Blues, there is now Tom with a Blue trio, (no pressure Tom) and Gill with Blue Columbians, (plenty of pressure Gill
feels like a bit of an insurance, just in case things went pear shape here.
And of course I still have Blue Columbian cockerel and kept four Blue hens, after all one can't let go all at once.
