Car parts for less

Post by baronrenfrew » Mon Dec 04, 2017 3:01 pm

So my 2007 vw golf has rear brake issues. Mechanic just called: pads, rotors, hand brake cables, and maybe calipers. Labour est $400 parts $800 plus 13% tax. I called vw dealer and parts are the same price. Went online Rockauto.com $340 $CDN delivered and $94 refund when caliper cores sent back: so all in $244 vs $904!! So what if it takes a week for parts delivery. Also checked spark plugs: half price= under $9.63 each vs $19.

Last year exhaust including flex pipe and catalytic converter $800 at dealer $340 from Rockauto.

Check them out!

Good inventory and prices!

KB turned us on to primechoice a couple years ago. Not as good a selection, but dirt cheap and free shipping, arrives within 3 days. Fixed my 2003 VW beetle (pads, rotors, ebrake cables and O2 sensors) for 1/4 the price Crappy Tire wanted for parts.

Hey Bert..

Did you have to pay brokerage fees and get hit with taxes when you picked up your Rockauto order from the post office? Interesting site for sure.

Thanks, Chris.
