Join us as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Kemptville Winter Woodlot Conference. We’ll journey through time in exploring how our forests and their management have changed over the past three decades, and, likewise, consider what’s on the horizon for our forests.

This year’s keynote speaker is Peter Kimbell, Warning Preparedness Meteorologist, Meteorological Service of Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada. Peter has been a meteorologist with Environment Canada for close to 30 years. He has experience in forecasting for marine and aviation clients, the military, and the general public. 2017 Ontario Hazelnut Association Eighth Annual Symposium
The theme of this year’s event is “The Future of Hazelnuts in Ontario” and the program will explore the path the OHA is taking, in partnership with Ferrero Canada and the University of Guelph, to significantly expand the industry over the coming decade.

Leading the development of the hazelnut sector in Ontario

By working collaboratively with all members of the value chain, the Ontario Hazelnut Association is encouraging planting of hazelnuts in Ontario to serve new markets. This new crop for Ontario has enormous potential, with interested growers, strong suppliers and engaged buyers. The Ontario Hazelnut Association will continue to develop new markets for Ontario hazelnuts and their products through agronomic knowledge, cultivar development, economic analysis and public advocacy
