Forum rules
As per Ferrier1987: You are supposed to post pictures when you post about your baby goats. Its a rule here. I just made it up as a rule, but its now part of the forum rules I have decided.

I don't think you need a barn, just a shelter.

... And alpacas are herd animals - you really need more than one for them to thrive. They need companionship.
Really, you shouldn't split up a herd of bonded alpacas. You need three, JimW. And you won't find a better deal. :-)
Strike while the iron is hot, as they say ;-)

Haha

I would like a trio (2 females and a male), maybe 1 day.

Apparently alpacas dont have the same, "kill em all" mentality that lamas do. there small size is nice but I think they would need a guardian animal as well. but thats just what I read online after passing an alpaca farm, (I had lizzie look em up and tell me cuz I was driving.) Bummer but hey if you want alpacas- get em, they sure are cute!

Yep Al , 2 of my wife's cousins raise alpacas for wool & have llamas to guard them from predators . Ones on Vancouver Island & ones here in Ont in Perth area . We have socks & gloves / mittens from them , sure are warm in winter . Luck
