Bully Chicken

Bianca is a broody raising some chicks, and she is fierce. Gets all fluffed up and will run at anything that gets near her chicks. My best guess is that she is a chick o0f Dora, who was really fierce, and before that of Rex, a broody Exchequer Leghorn. Bianca is a medium size, white with black speckles, puffy Americauna type cheeks.
So Sunny, the 2 month old doeling got out into the yard and wandered too close to Bianca. Well Bianca fluffed up, issued a war cry and ran at Sunny, right at her face, jumping and spurring. Sunny, thinking discretion was the better part of valour, withdrew, rather quickly I must say, with Bianca in pursuit. There is a big mulberry tree in the yard, and Sunny made it behind the tree, and Bianca started back to her chicks, muttering and cussing under her breath. Sunny, wanting to see if the coast was clear, peeked out from behind the tree, and decided it was safe, and started to break cover. Mistake. Bianca saw her and charged again, sunny barely made it back behind the tree. Stayed a little longer, tried again. Bad move. A feathered buzz saw came at her again, pinned her behind the tree.
The third time, Sunny peeked out from behind the tree, and ran, bleating the other way, Bianca standing her ground and cursing at her, as Sunny, telling her there was more where that came from and don't come back.
I rescued Sunny and give her an armed escort back into the pasture. I don't think anyone, especially Sunny, will refer to anyone without courage a chicken. And I think Bianca enjoyed her small victory, having cowed a small goat, and established respect, if not dominance.
The goings on around here. Live is good.
In the picture is the tree she was hiding behind.
