Re-purposed/multi-purposed items (quail egg related)

I'd like to share two things that were meant for a specific use that we recently found other uses for:
1. Mini round cube ice cube trays with silicone bottoms - Dollarama find.

I originally bought two to use as a mold for making toilet bowl cleaning bombs. Then a week or so ago, after I had made up another batch of toilet bowl cleaner, DH looked at it and said, "that looks like a perfect size to use as a quail egg storage carton for the fridge". So we tried it, and it is. Perfect for keeping the quail eggs upright, which is something that doesn't happen in a regular chicken egg carton. The problem with quail eggs being stored in regular egg cartons is that if they are on their side for a time, the yolk settles very close to the shell, and when you steam them and peel them, often there very little white separating the yolk from the shell and as a result exposes the yolk in that spot when you peel the shell away. Really annoying. The mini ice cube tray holds the egg upright, hence keeping the yolk centred in the albumen. Even small quail eggs are easy to remove from the tray; just push up on the silicone bottom a little.

2. Electric donut hole/cake pop maker - Kijiji find.

This small appliance is great for quickly cooking up quail eggs. Just a quick spray with my Misto, and one minute later 7 perfectly fried quail eggs slide right out beside some bacon on a plate for breakfast, or on top of a spinach salad, or whatever.

Anyone else have a re-purposing idea that they would like to share?
