Does anyone know of a website to purchase egg cartons at a reasonable price preferably in Canada? We don't seem to be getting many of ours back despite asking nicely.

I charge extra for a dozen if I supply the egg carton. It seems to encourage people to bring back their empties. Last year I even had someone who I gave a discount whenever she made egg carton donations. ;-)
TSC does sell them, but I don't remember how much they charge.

Find someone who owns a restaurant....ask them. A friend saved me a ton of them :)

We find most people don't return them. Pullets Plus sells them in bundles of 100. I think they're about $25/ bundle. We only bought them once. Too much money and the hinges were really brittle.
We ask for them on freecycle. It's a sharing/swapping forum. You have to offer something for free before you can ask. If you know anyone in an apartment building that recycles the blue boxes there are good sources.

I like madison174 suggestion.
Someone brought me cartons from a restaurant & they worked out great.
The "only" problem was it was more work.
The carton from the restaurant were "FLATS" which is good for storing them.
( I think they hold 30 eggs? )
BUT I had to cut them to make them fit a dozen eggs.

Sometimes if I'm LUCKY, I will find them on Recycling day.
I like the idea of Rewarding the folks who bring them back.
( maybe give them 1/2 dozen for every dozen cartons they bring? )
