a DOG dilema........
Re: a DOG dilema........
I taught my last 3 dogs "pee break?" for going outside, and use "good job" instead of good girl or good boy. I also taught them "show me" because they come and stand and stare at me too and I often don't know what they want. After I say show me, they will walk over to what they want and stare at it instead.
I tried the bell thing with one of my cocker spaniels. It didn't work for him.

Addy is 12 weeks old today, celebrated by a first car drive wearing a "big girl" seat belt
was somewhat exhausted by the whole experience

I am going to guess it would not be a good thing? :) not familiar with the breed.
There is really only one breed I wouldn't consider taking on, but pretty sure there are some regrettable choices out there.

Chesapeakes are great working dogs but a touch "gifted" as puppies and also can be very obstinate. They need to be worked hard to be really happy and when water is involved great. Terrific goose dogs especially. A friend had one I was especially fond of.
