Well now might be a good time to get one, you have time and I have to wonder if breeders are going to have trouble selling their pups with everyone self isolating.

I think that with the current Covid-19 physical distancing restrictions that have to be happening at the moment, maybe it would be difficult for the breeder to get a feel as to whether the pups would be going to the right home. There is only so much that an adoption application can reveal about prospective new owners. Face-to-face meetings/interviews, and more importantly "meet your new puppy and see if you like each other" sessions are probably not the best idea right now. Would Face time, Zoom, Skype videoconferencing or the like, suffice? I don't know.

There are still a lot of ads for birds and animals for sale on Kijiji in the Regina area. Facebook has lots of ads for chicks and other poultry for sale. I can't afford to get sick so I will have to keep my extra roosters and other items until the crisis is over.

It all just got a bit more complicated, just like everything else.
I already explained to the resident dog that getting sick or sticking a nose in to a baby porcupine would be a bad mistake.
Explained the same to DH omitting the porcupine bit.

So apparently EVERYBODY who is at home with kids decided this would be a good time to get a puppy.
That makes me think that there will be an awful lots of dogs up for adoption after the kids go to school and parents are back at work.

Since we have pretty much decided to go with a reputable breeder, it would appear that reputable breeders have stopped breeding because of difficulties of getting vet care for either mum or pups, which I can certainly appreciate.

OC - DH did mention that now would be a fantastic time to get a motorcycle to collect chicken feed. We even know where there is one!

Oh and wouldn't an ATV be good too!

I thought people would have a hard time selling pups when everyone is supposed to be in quarantine but it seems like they are selling like hotcakes. Gonna be a lot of unsocialized dogs, and your right a lot of unwanted dogs once everyone is back to work and school.
