Dog camp
Dog camp
Since you asked... dog camp was a week in a college dormitory with full days of dog training classes. There were several choices at each of seven or eight time slots. Frisbee, agility, tricks, dancing, rally obedience, flyball, canine good neighbour...I took both dogs. All three of us just lost our best friend, so it was good to get away from the too-empty house and bond, with pumpkin treats and disco. And there was air conditioning and limitless water for showers, very welcome amenities in mid-July, and three meals a day, also welcome for my circumstance. It was in Kingston, so I could nip home to tend the poultry and cats.
My older dog is a very enthusiastic dancer, I would do it again. Maybe we'll try painting and skateboarding next time....
I will try to post a link. Mr Spot Dog Camp. Every year in July

SOunds like the Becoming an Outdoorswoman camp we used to do in Dorset. They got to pick the courses they wanted to do from fishing to chainsaws and shooting. SOme girlfriends and I used to teach shotgunning. It was great to see the looks of achievement when they were smashing the clays!

Re: Dog camp
My mother and her boyfriend, both in their late seventies at the time, attended Seniors Camp. Much the same model. At a lodge in the woods for a week, they did watercolour painting and photography and bridge and tai chi and canoe trips all day. I was envious. It sounded lovely. Don't know why there aren't more camps for grownups.

Re: Dog camp
Wow, sounds like great fun, and a much-needed break. I agree, there needs to be more of such things for grownups!
