That would be OK as prevention but I suspect she will be carrying a lot.

She goes to the OSPCA on 24th August. We have been socialising her and I feel she will get a new home easily. Problem for us is she can't be left unsupervised as she claws things (we are working on modifying that behaviour as she's very young and it's just normal) and has a thing for butter and sinks likely due to living wild for a while. DH lets me be Mean Momma - great! She is finally starting to relax and learn to play a bit but she is still nervous.
We would like another cat but this one is not ours. We are old farts and need an old fart! It's odd but I think we still miss Muppet (she says with her eyes watering). He was a stinking, beaten up old Tom with little fur and many scars. Walked into the kitchen one day in appalling shape, sat down and sort of said "right, I'm here, deal!" This is how he ended up looking, we had him for 5 1/2 years.

No, she went to the SPCA and I'm sure she'll be homed soon. Didn't realise how nasty this shelter was, total disinterest in her behaviour etc. and the place smelt! It was sort of "hand over the commodity and fee and leave please" I mentioned a concern I had about the amount she was drinking and peeing and got told that "we will sort it out" rather brusquely. They almost seem to be using the animals as a marketing tool to raise money rather than a rescue. They even asked for an extra donation. Much more relaxed here now because I can go back to spending time with the birds. She did escape and get into the turkey pen once but I managed to get her out before the juveniles and Mamas got her. They had her inside a rather menacing circle.

Well our swim coach is something to do with the SPCA and I decided to mention my concerns to her. Well I got an interesting reception to that. Basically called a liar because she "doubted" any staff would tell me to turn a cat back out. Then I started to get a lecture about feral cats and the TWP (this cat was clearly not feral). Nice to rush to judgement making assumptions when you don't have the facts! This lady just went onto the "People not to bother with" list.

Yea. I've had some dealings with various rescue groups (as a volunteer) and it appears that people who turn in animals are despicable liars. I have also noticed that the staff have no interest in any information about the animal being turned in, which is a real shame, as that can really be useful to anyone adopting the animal. I guess they are so used to dealing with low-life people that they don't trust anyone any more :(.

And another calico cat has turned up in the area. Larger with more white. Hoping it belongs to someone. Saw it when all hell broke loose in the turkey paddock.
