New puppy

Post by Shnookie » Thu May 17, 2018 11:41 am

My new puppy arrived yesterday. 9 weeks old. She's really cute, can howl and sing well at night, and is a fast learner.

Here she is. I haven't got a name for her yet. I took Dillon with me. He is interested in her, but not in love with her. He's a lot older now than when I got my last pup. So far he tolerates her but I think he'll get more attached.

She's got a nice personality. She's quite outgoing. I'm really happy with her. She eats well, and is partly house trained now. She's playing, curious, barking a little, cuddly, and starting to ask for a drink when she wants one. I love how German Shepherds speak English! Last night she only cried a little when we went to bed, then nothing until 5:00. She did pee in the crate, but that's to be expected for now. I haven't had a puppy for 8 years so I have to dig into the cobwebs to remember how to take care of one. Signed her up for a puppy class in June. That will be fun.

She's 13 weeks old already. She did get a name. Trixie - while house training her she tricked me into thinking she needed to go outside, I took her out and she did nothing, then when she came in she peed on the floor or in her crate. She's been quite reliable for the last few days. Next issue - getting car sick. She stresses and drools, then throws up. Oh how I've missed this! I still love her though. I missed the first puppy class last week because I wrote it on the wrong day on the calendar, so tomorrow evening is the first for her. I took her to Regina with me today and she got sick 3 times and was quite wet by the time I got her home. :(

Here's a couple of new pictures. Dillon doesn't love her, but he tolerates her if she's not biting or jumping at him.
