This howling is what keeps getting her sent home after her trials with potential new families. I'm hoping she settles in and it comes to a quick end.

Lou will only tolerate so much because he works long days, 7 days a week and being woken a few times a night, every night won't last long here, and I'd have to support him in that, but i will do my best to get her to settle.

She's loving her walks!! Not too sure about the baboon she is hooked up too but she's coming along.

Just a thought - have you tried giving her a stuffed animal to sleep with?

No I didn't think of that, but that's a good idea. I am picking her up a bed, she's never had one I'm told, so I'll grab her a stuffy while I'm at it.

I think she has vision loss. I'm thinking from her seizures? If I get too far from her outside, she stops and looks around for me. As I walk towards her she gets an 'ahh there you are look' and starts on her way to me. She holds her head a bit tilted too. Another possible seizure effect apparently.

But let me tell you she's a sweetie. Loves loves her rubs. Follows me everywhere. Is very respectful in the home. Smart! Learning house rules much much quicker than I thought she would. Definitely needs to visit the groomer cause she's a little stinky. I made her appointment for next Wednesday so she has some time to settle before I ship her off to the groomer.

such a sweet gentle face I could just squish her!

She could possibly have cataracts starting or other sheltie eye issues.

Bring her with you, if possible, so she can pick out a fave for herself. :-)

Well that was short lived. Deja has kept everyone up with howling since before 3am. This has not gone over well. Second night being awake for Josh and Lou.

Last night the howling was loud and lasted the majority of the night. Lou got home from work @ 9:30 last night, almost a 16 hour day after less than 4 hours of sleep the night before and he only got 4 hours again last night and has been gone since 6am for work this morning.

No sleep is not an option for our family. We were all in the kitchen by 3am. I made a cinnamon coffee cake and fresh POTS of coffee.

Unfortunately Deja will be returning home today. Now I understand why her other trials have also failed due to howling. Who thought a little 25lb Sheltie could put the coyotes and wolves to shame.
