training a new goofball
So this spring our 10 year old Doberman mix Duchess died - suspect heat stroke. It was a hot day in May and we were on the trails as we have almost every weekend and she fell behind. I went back and she was expired.
So given the covid demand for every animal drove prices to ridiculous, we planned to wait until winter. In late August we called a rescue we knew near Quebec city and they had this dog - Husky x German Shepherd. So he has been on a leash or on a rope since we got him and the last few days complete freedom when we’re outside. Not one to bark at people: he’s a lover not a fighter. Now working on guarding chickens instead of them being another toy to chase.

Beautiful, you lucked out, huskies tend to be pretty destructive, yours looks more of a Shepard, very handsome

Your new boy is very lucky to be adopted by your family and it sounds as if he fits right in :).

And you get to skip the whole puppy stage of soiled carpets, gnawed furniture and midnight bathroom breaks.

Thanks y'all! He is ok off leash now outside the house. Now i go to the woods and he is tied to the tractor, and coming back I let him loose (before deer hunting season of course) and he runs around but does follow me home.
