My dear buddy, Lisa and I have finally stopped laughing!! You are the best!! There is never a dull moment with you around. Chinese food? Maybe be the best idea yet, but I very much doubt that the "boss" would ever allow this.

He have some coops whitewashed and when we change the shavings we sprinkle it down first as in the old days i find it also helps to keep the shavings fresher longer.

I've just been reading through this thread and wonder if any of you sprinkle lime in your runs. I have covered runs and do to circumstances my birds are spending more time in them than what I'd like. The soil is kept very dry and I try to turn it every so often but it's getting very stinky. I've also been battling mites again...sigh. It seems like a never ending problem for me. Would garden (or agricultural) lime be ok to spread in the run? Would it help combat mites? Or do I need to use hydrated lime against pests? And if it does need to be hydrated would that still be safe to use on the soil? I find differing info on this topic everywhere. Help!
