Anyone tried "healthi- straw" bedding?

There's a dealer in Haldimand county, anyone ever tried this? Looks flax- ish.

Interesting, I guess it would make the fluffing up a bit easier then the long stuff?
Unless it clumped down too much?

I read the site and am really wondering how this will cut down on transmission of avian influenza as compared to say using shavings....
i agree chopped straw is fantastic, but i would mix with shavings....and buy locally small squares of straw from a local farmer and borrow a shredder....

I bet this stuff makes compost gold... but probably expensive. I wonder if you could take a lawnmower to regular straw? : )

Totally don't understand how it prevents or deters mice. We have wheat straw and if I use the chaff out of it in the coop, I swear I have worse mice problems than when I use straight shavings. We've never ran the straw through the chopper. I would figure straw would be dusty too. Interesting.

Well i may be wrong but we just signed in a user called "healthistraw"....maybe related and can answer some of the above questions. If the price is right anything is possible in the feed and bedding market!
