Feed for conditioning show birds
I have heard a few different opinions on this. Would like to hear more. I heard flax seed and black oil sunflower seeds are good for conditioning birds anyone else know of anything? And do you think throwing too much of these in their mix could become a bad thing?

Wyandottes aren't hard feathered. I'd keep them in a good 18% ration and Check for mites every week. They r notorious. I sprout. Boss and oats this time of year and make sure they clean up a lay ration. Some veg oil in pelletsKe em eat it up.

Sunshine and grass, too! Seems to put a gloss on the birds- mine are looking a bit rough after the winter- despite all the goodies! Works for humans too I think.

When Im getting my games ready I like to add a little pigeon feed to my regular mix . I like too ferment my hard grains also a little raw meat a couple times a week . If you can move your birds around different pens . Moving into different pens keeps the birds more active and alert . Good luck this season

BobG I tried pigeon feed, but my chickens are reluctant to eat the whole peas- do you grind it ?

No Robbie I don't , I use a fancy pigeon mix and the peas in it are very small . Most split in half after 4 days of fermenting , my birds gobble it up !

So you are fermenting the pigeon mix, not feeding it dry? I`ll have to try that. I`ll try for 4 days too, thanks.
