Didn't know they had tabletop for turkeys, wouldn't want to be the one getting flogged with those wings.

Re: OHIO National Video
It's the first one in decades apparently. They had nearly 200 turkeys. They're really just big pussycats if they are trained and handled regularly, well many varieties LOL. Here is one of our house sitters meeting one.

Re: OHIO National Video
The Turkey Extravaganza at the Ohio National was something to see... more like 300 + turkeys entered thought. Qualifying event for the buff turkey as well. I spoke to Judge Halbach on the event... said it was a great experience but lots of work and organization. He was exhausted at the end of the day . I have been at this game for over 40 years ... I have only seen bench judging of turkeys one time prior to this , back in 2001 at an APA National in Nebraska with about 50-60 turkeys... judged by the Infamous Norm Kardasch . It was very neat to see the numbers and quality of specimens.Numbers are what most shows lack for this sort of exercise to be warranted . Just a side note.. not table top but rather " Bench Judging" ... they are not seramas lol....

Re: OHIO National Video
Sorry @modern17 corrected now!
I think it is still available in replay.
Interesting interview about the Champion Turkey
And the Reserve
Nice to see a youngster starting up in turkeys.

Re: OHIO National Video
For anyone that is interested in seeing quality and quantity poultry .. the Ohio national held the second weekend in November every years is the one not to miss. Quality through out as well as numbers. The best from across North American come to compete and more importantly socialize over our feathered friends. Classes are usually huge in most breeds and varieties of fowl. I know in my breed Modern game bantams.. there were over 200 birds showing by some of the best on the continent. Brahma bantams were over 300 birds . Wyandotte bantams were over 350 in number. The total entry was pushing 8600 entries. I was one of 5 judges who judged the jr show... which was over 2000 birds.. think of that .. there were more junior entries that any open show in Canada. Its like OPB on Steroids. Always a good time in Ohio... I love the atmosphere and the chance to catch up with old friends from across the continent and make new ones as well. I highly suggest making the trek to Ohio for any one interested in poultry !
