Tomorrow is the mount forest show. I don't think I'll go this year, I love to see all the animals but I'm always tempted to buy . I know this is the time to buy if you need anything but with biosecurity its a hassle to bring anything home, and usually I have to medicate for bugs/lice/mites. I think I'll skip the hassle.

I went today for the 1st time and we had a great time walking around with my husband in the dark with flashlights at 4:30 am lol. We are from out of town so we spent the night near Listowel which was 20 min away. I bought 4 orpington pullets, a rhode island red pullet, two frizzles chicks and a polish hen just for fun. It was really busy but I'm so glad we went early to find what I wanted.

@chicken I was wondering about that 5am start. Flashlights eh? I considered going but ended up going to Owen Sound area to pick up a second chicken coop instead. Glad you found what you wanted. I have 2 Orpingtons and they are so friendly.

I was really happy to go, it's something that I've always wanted to do but its so far away I booked a room. We put carriers on a wagon and pulled it behind us. I won't be going to the spring one but I'd like to go to the fall one again. I will take some pictures. We were there at 4:30 am after grabbing a coffee. I talked to one seller and she said this year was great because the gates were open so she picked her spot and set up at 3:30 am! You do have to take your time and know what you want and be careful. I did see some health issues and there was one seller trying to sell me a hen when I knew it was a rooster lol. We were on the road heading home with the new girls at 9:30 am.

@chicken The coop is still on the trailer but hope to get it off this week and in position. Here is a pic of it on the trailer.
