Just got word that this will be the last year for the Saugeen Mt Forest Sale. April 28,2019 will conclude this long running sale. Although I am not a big fan of these types of sales.. it is sad that things must come to end. They did provide a service to many fanciers over the years , this news was just posted on Facebook by the Exhibitor Magazine and forwarded to me by some friends

Well thats a shame, I loved going just to see all the different animals. It was just so old times, nothing new and modern there!

yeah i just heard last night too! looks like they were having problems finding help for the sale.....i'll miss it been there a couple of times. but have to admit with the avian flu threats and biosecurity it is likely the way of the future. i thoroughly enjoyed the sale every time i was there! sorry to see it coming to an end.

Trouble finding volunteers. I would have gladly paid a couple of dollars gate fee to go in to see all the critters. It always seemed to draw a big crowd. Very sad.

Very sad to hear this sale is coming to an end. It was what got me started into poultry and I have been attending ever since. Does anyone know of any other good sales in Southern Ontario? I occasionally go to the Woodstock sales but I would love to find some other events. Thanks

Sunday May 26, 2019 Wyoming, ON Fair Grounds (20-minutes from Sarnia on the London side - minutes off the 402) has a great location and facility held when the weather is usually nice.

As we’ve moved east, I’m going to try the Lombardy sale in Smith Falls. I think I’ll have to head back home and go to that last sale in Mount Forest. I’m pretty sure I was at the first one.....I loved going and taking the kids. Children are such enablers....my excuse to my husband when I hauled back more critters to the farm.
