And this is what a strutting Jen looks like. They do this to sort out dominance to determine who gets first access to the best males. The poor guys do all that strutting and think they have a say in the matter LOL!

Bruce has not yet managed a strut of any recognizable sort...although today, he lifted a couple feathers and let his snood down, all 5 cm of it but yesterday he convinced a (functional? Is that the pc term? Lol) Tom to try to woo him.

They were quite small, about half the size I expected, but looked normal otherwise. And, he is quite delicious, with a surprising amount of leftovers!

OK folks another puzzle esp. for @WLLady and @windwalkingwolf
Up until a few weeks ago this BSW hen looked like the others. She is now in with a different male (only 1 not a mixed pen) SHe is acting extremely dominant and looks to be changing physically to some extent - high T or something else? SHe lets the young guy have his way with her. I am now noticing caruncles and a long skinny snood. Same size as the other hens who are just over a year. Haven't been able to determine whether she is laying or not.
