This is a favorite for pheasants.

I am putting gravel and sand in. I built it during a rainy week and it was all mud. I have some straw and sand in there now that's working.baronrenfrew wrote:QR_BBPOST It also looks like you have a dirt floor to the coop. With spring thaw and rain it'll turn into a pile of mud and thats bad as pheasants can't handle their feet weet. Better a gravel floor to the coop as it will drain well.

I am thinking on the next build to add rows of corn in it. It will be good, the birds get corn and the raccoons get nothing.

That'll be good if you give the corn a chance to get ahead of the birds. You're on the ball!

Took a couple pictures of the game bird pen this weekend. Can you count how many birds there are in the first picture?

only the two right now. They will be moved before spring to there own cage. Keeping them together now so less work for me over the winter. I am surprised how well they are getting along. I am sure come breeding time the chuker will go on a killing spree.

Sweet! I've never had chuker or any partridge before, I take it they can be pretty aggressive during the breeding season?
