We're new here - we have 25 chickens in total - and one of them lives in the house with us!
About 7 years ago my wife and I started to look into becoming more self sufficient. We started doing research and house hunting, and moved out of downtown Ottawa to outside Smiths Falls going on 4 years ago. In the fall of 2019, we decided to take the plunge and plan to start our flock in the spring. We joked the entire time as we built the coop that everyone would think we got into chickens just because of the pandemic - but that was not the reason, but it did perhaps play a role in the infamous 'chicken math' :)
We have:
- 5x Red sexlink
- 6x Azure Blue
- 2x Columbian Rocks
- 1x Pencilled Rock
- 2x White Rocks
- 3x Blue-laced Red Wyandotte (all 3 are roosters)
- 2x Cuckoo Maline
- 4x Midnight Majestry Marans
