Hello from Hanover area
Hey all! Been a lurker for awhile but thought I'd announce myself. I've only been keeping chickens for 2 years and this was my first winter with them. I was worried, but seems we all weathered well and the eggs are coming strong with the longer spring like days!!
I've got a small mixed barnyard flock of 6 hens and a lovely young rooster. The rooster and 1 pullet were hatched by one of my original ladies last year, from a neighbour's fertile eggs. They are very friendly, especially Peach, the blonde pullet. All ladies are brown egg layers, even though 4 of them were sold to me as Easter Eggers.
I'm soon going to try to entice the broody from last year to sit again. Once she sits, I'm going to look for Ameraucana or legbar eggs for her as I'm really wanting some blue egg layers!
Btw....Chicken math has hit....the new bigger and better coop is in the planning stages! lol.
Ill see you around the forum....lots of questions!
