New from york region...
Hi!
I was provided info for this forum from a Backyard chicken's member for a more "local" place. A bit about me, i have a mixed flock of ducks and chickens, actually started with ducks.. i know somewhat backwards than most lol.
I also have a small flock of sheep and a pair of horses....
At the end of last year i fell quite ill, went from bronchitis to pneumonia and it would not leave, i had horrible attacks with my breathing to boot, long story short i was diagnosed with COPD, a total shock to me as i am ..okay was a healthy active person, don't smoke, don't even drink(surprisingly lol) took me a while before i could even tend to the animals what so ever due to my breathing...
I am more stable now but have good & bad days and will need to reduce my flocks... also the last couple of years have seen me be under attack and i have lost so much of my flock to predators, this has left me with poor ratios and frankly just a mess of what i have built up over the years...
<---- felt a lot like this guy for the past year lol.. like the world is fighting against my choice to run a small farm..
Anyways, looks forward to meeting you all!

Hiya! i'm glad you stopped by! hope you enjoy the forum (and keep feeling better!!!!). When you are ready to rebuild, i'm 100% sure there are lots of folks here happy to help out! What kind of horses? birds? i know nothing about sheep other than around my place the local sheep (not mine) can squeeze through electric fences because the wool insulates them LOL.
Enjoy the forum

to PTO! I know how you feel about the , not long after I had decided on a breed to focus on and bought good stock, suddenly it was one thing after another. If not for this forum and the amazing people on it, I likely would have had to give up. This group is an amazing bunch of intelligent, knowledgeable people who moonlight as cheerleaders and enablers!

I'm sorry to hear that! yeah, i had a few loses over the years... various reasons etc but then all of a sudden it seemed like BAM every predator under the sun found me, from mink up to coyote.... and everything in between.windwalkingwolf wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2018 2:50 pmto PTO! It's so disheartening... you try to pick up and move forward but it can be difficult as the loses mount and some are extremely important to continuing.
