Hello from Perth :)
Hello All :)
I'm new to PTO and very excited. I've been a casual chicken lady for the past 8 years on my parents farm, but just last year (October 2016) moved to our first place I could call home with my own acreage! NOW the true chicken math can begin!
I immediately fell in love with the Sussex breed. In two short years I have started up my own flock, using 5 different out sourced lines (new Quebec line in the incubator as we speak). Although the Light Sussex are my heart breed, I may have a few more projects this year including an auto sexing high quality broiler line, and a Ermine Favorelle venture (If the Fav peeps will have me)!
I'm excited to hatch some stellar chicks and start the world of showing this year and begin improving on the wonderful utility and SOP for this breed.
I will have a lot of questions but I also may be of some help as I am Veterinary Technician by trade and a true Genetics Buff!
Happy to meet you all and can't believe its taken me this long to join! Already got my first show entry in!
Thanks
Taylor

Glad to have you on the forum.
Light Sussex was one of the breeds I have considered when I was starting out, beautiful and resilient breed.
