Re: Hello from Thunder Bay!!
Welcome!!
Sorry you just missed our PTO online show. Troy (our judge) had great comments for all the birds and how they could be improved if needed.
We'll have another one.

Welcome Dazzleme Farm! Nice pictures. Did you see the ad for this place on Kijiji Thunder Bay? Hopefully more will join from our area. Check out the monthly 'Photo Contest' in the Games forum.

You may want to investigate local Agricultural Fairs, they may have a poultry show or may want you to start one! :)Dazzleme Farm wrote: ↑Thu Mar 15, 2018 10:11 amOne thing I wish for is that we had shows around here! I would totally go for show quality birds. I love my chickens!

I heat my coop to about 5c, I think they fair pretty well with colder temps but I hate frozen water and eggs lol. I have a really well insulated building with a oiled filled heater from Canadian tire. Good question about them fairing in winter with cold temps. I may post that question!

Hello Dazzlement,
Where in the TBay area are you located? I am south of the city and have one pair of splash silkies! Just getting back into my birds after a disastrous couple of years. Bring in black coppers and cream leg bars out of BC this year. I also currently have a dozen commercial layers.
