Welcome, glad to have you on the Forum.
Introducing new birds to an existing flock sometime creates problems, and new birds coming in should go thru 2-3 week isolation before being combined with the home floc.
Either the home flock or the new birds althoug appearing healthy may be a carriers of something the other flock aren't resistant to or one flock may have been inoculated and the other not, and problems can arise from that.

I'll echo the advise above about auctions. Be very careful what you get.
There are some disease problems out there and you don't want to be bringing any of them home to your chickens.
