These are gooooood! Even the teenager will eat them.

Brussel Sproute
Bacon
Diced Purple onion
Diced Red Pepper
Sea Salt
Pepper

Wash and cut your Brussel sprouts in half. Throw some bacon in a pan, little the bacon get 1/2 cooked. Add red onions..cook for a minute then add Brussel sprouts and cook till tender. About 5 minutes before they are done throw the diced red pepper in.
Crack some sea salt and pepper to taste and enjoy!!

We had BBQ ribs with the Brussel sprouts. In December. With no snow. Mosquitos. Annoying! Bring on the snow!

I love brussels especially with chestnuts too! This is one of those things I can't stop eating. OK for others it's chocolate for me brussels or rutabaga.
Sounds yummy Sandy!

Umm KB, that's quite the mix. I was a chocolate-aholic. Then I hit 40 (something) and couldn't eat it anymore...headaches etc.

I love Brussel sprouts but not rutabaga... But maybe if you have a good recipe to share I can try it again. Sometimes you eat it once the wrong way and you're ruined

I just steam/microwave it add butter, pepper and sometimes mayo. Have it for lunch on wholegrain bread. It's critical to get a good rutabaga some taste quite nasty, I think maybe too early in the season. You have to cut out the darker small pieces inside too they can be tough. I think my Scottish heritage comes out with the rutabagas!

My mom made for a festive meal once. I haven't been able to eat it since. Maybe I'll give it a try again

I'm keen on both...if i ever get the sprouts to actually grow here I'll be in heaven...i grow a variety of heritage turnip aka rutabaga here and they are awesome..full of flavour, rich texture and colour and cook up beautifully...unlike those waxen bowling balls available in the supermarket...now, about those brussel sprouts

Love brussels sprouts too! With balsamic vinegar. A difficult crop to grow.

Looks yummy! I made a similar recipe last night, but I used broccoli vs Brussel sprouts and used oil vs bacon then roasted on the fire last night along with ribs and a salmon. The smoke flavour was so good. When my Brussel sprouts are ready in the garden, I will try this recipe. Thanks!
