Ok PTO peeps, can anyone provide me with a 100 % fool proof method for hard boiled eggs that peel easily without the white sticking to the shell?

Thanks in advance,
Dean

Boil in steamer for 12 minutes. Put in bowl of ice and water. Cool completely. Peels easily and fool proof!!!! The only way we do them.
Time for boil is dependent on how you like the cooked. Start with12 and go from there.

Cheers!

LOL. Yep, that's how i do them....and that's the ONLY way i can make fresh eggs peel without the white sticking to the shells.

the other way is to *GASP* buy store eggs that have sat on the shelf a while, and use them....they've dried out a bit inside so they're easier to peel. LOL. or, i've heard, take a dozen eggs and leave em in your fridge for 6 weeks and then hardboil them. don't know about you, but i am not good enough to think "oh, in 6 weeks i think i'll want hard boiled eggs, i better put some in the back of the fridge now"..... ;-P

Boil in a steamer? Like steaming veggies?

Yup. Double pot / boiler on stove. Weird concept I know but man it's the only way! Very thankful I gave it a go. Just make sure they are completely cooled. I use ice in the bowl because I have a teenager that eats them before I can get them cut in half.

I also reduce the boil a bit. Not on high, but more medium, a slower boil, once it starts to boil. I don't like dry hard boiled eggs or the grey that happens when over cooked.

And the rule is you must post your opinion after you give it a go

Do you put them in cold from the fridge, or are they room temperature?

Cold from fridge or shelf works fine

I boil them as usual and then whack them in half with a table knife and peel insides out with a teaspoon. When I am using them for potato salad or egg salad sandwich or deviled eggs. Lot less trouble but the above works too.
