Cowboy Candy... Jalapeno peppers

Post by Bayvistafarm » Tue Aug 21, 2018 9:52 pm

http://tastykitchen.com/blog/2011/09/ca ... boy-candy/

They are so good.. also on burgers and sandwiches!!

I do NOT cook my peppers in the syrup before I pack in jars. However... as I pack, I will pour in HOT boiling syrup and let it soften the jalapeno's abit, and press them down and add more.

I like my peppers to have a wee bit of crunch to them. Cooking them first, then processing them makes them more mushy than I like. But that is me.

Oh, sounds delicious!! Only question is, how "hot" do they end up? I love hot, hot, hot, but have trouble getting certain people in my family used to even really mild heat like Hungarians. Wussies, don't know what's good for them ;) But I don't want to make 10 jars of this stuff if I'm going to be eating it all by my onesie roflmbo

Thanks, so much for posting this recipe Bayvistafarm. I am planning on making some pickled jalapenos, but I might try these first, as I like that they are sweet and spicy. A lot of my family will really enjoy them.
