My father used to knaw on the core of every cabbage that was cut in our house He would grab the core and a salt shaker. I admit I've done the same.

I used to eat the ones from cauliflower
but stopped when read somewhere that all the chemicals from the soil get filtered thru the core
also my teeth used to better and we used to have dental insurance before retirement
