homemade finch cage

Post by thegawd » Wed Oct 18, 2017 11:06 am

I built this cage from scrap wood from work. Im a cabinet maker now and have learned a lot, I put that knowledge to use and built this beautiful cage. I have approximately 36 hours into it, holy crap! Lol. The cnc at work would take about 30 hours out of it cutting all the parts instead of cutting them on my table saw. It would also make a fabulous chameleon cage. I'm very proud of this, it is by far my finest work ever!

Cheers!

P.s... I got a new phone and still getting use to it and it's settings... even tho most of these are screenshots they are still quite big... So I'm sorry for anyone with a slow connection.... Plus the dark pic... I couldn't get a better one.... I'll replace it later with a better one...

Very nice, Al! Lucky birds. the plant is a nice touch. I'm sure they'll appreciate it.
One question: I don't see any feed or water dish, unless the plastic dish on the cage floor is a water dish?

THANKS Ross! Yup my number is still the same... i wonder how much a cage like this would be worth? Im seriously considering turning things like this into a business with the help of my job to cut the parts... I have a good idea how much the shop would charge and its pretty darn expensive!

THANKS Jaye! Ya for now I'm uskng Tupperware containers for food n water. I just started looking into "the best, less messy" feed n water containers and have my eye on some.

Cheers!

Oh ya.... the plant is actually a bonsai fiscus tree, and putting it in the cage was my plan all along. Poor birds never seen a tree before LOL. They didn't know what to make of it and just kept flying around panicking lol. But now they play in it.

We use the plastic ones that hang on wire with hooks built in . No mess in water easy to use .Can buy at Walmart or most pet stores . Inexpensive too . Perch along front edge for bird to sit on .
