Just got our tree. Don't usually do one but the one I liked came on sale. It's a vintage tinsel look with lights up the centre and a remote to change the colour, very retro. SO DH will have the happy childhood memories of nearly being electrocuted by an aluminium tree. Oh those great times!

Can it be in lieu? Since our back yard is full of "Christmas trees it seems a bit redundant to be bringing them inside......

Trees are a good Pagan ritual IMO, like the Yule Log to be burnt over the darkest days of the Solstice to the return of the light.
