I Like your mindset Tom, I think the same way, I often wonder how the heck they did everything they did back then. It's hard to find some of that info but a little basic ingenuity and a need or a goal to accomplish is usually all it takes.

On that note, I would never go to a gym and "work out" even if they had them when I grew up. It was study, chores, then hockey... We were self-sufficient kids too... We each had our own little vege garden and we made enough money shovelling snow to buy candies. We loved candies. My dad has a green thumb. He grew all his veges from seeds. Not sure what variety he grew but his tomato garden would best be described as a tomato forest. The plants were about 6 feet tall. None of his kids do but one if his grandchildren has a green thumb.

it's actually called "crimson clover" in our catalogue.....but likely the same thing LOL

Yeah the crimson clover is really pretty with big deep red heads, the color is kind of hard to describe, I guess you'd call it crimson. Haha. So I went to see what the white clover was called, well, its called white clover. LOL and the micro clover I have from OSC is pipolina. I have all those plus alfalfa sprouting in a garden right now. In a couple of months it should look pretty cool.

Supposed to go below zero tonight with a chance of snow so if your crazy enough like me to have plants outside right now, your going to want to cover them or move them.

I found these perfect domes from dollarama that I use to cover my plants n so far they have worked well. They have been through a couple bouts of negative temps with snow and come out just fine. I attached them to a 2x6 frame to make them a bit taller.

I found a couple morals yesterday while cutting the grass. So I dug them up and moved them. I put one in a crock. The other i put in a garden bed. Haha! I have the mycelium now!

Our gardens are finally all tilled, expanded a bit back to the original sizes and mostly squared off. Most are planted. Theres 21 beds in our strip till garden. I'll get a drone pic later to share, i have to contract that out to my son. Lol.

Ohhhhh but I'm not done building gardens, we have a plot for hulless oats, tarturary buckwheat and something else I can't remember. Like 25x70 or something, an old garden that has not been turned in a couple years and new, most covered in grass. Trying to find a plow to get it done as I now have a tractor! 1956 case 311. Semi restored by myself! Everything works except the tachometer. YEEEHAA!
