Interesting, Every Year around here is the Year of the garden !!!
The only thing that keeps my sanity intact, (and the dogs of course) even thinking about the garden in the spring makes me feel better :)

Garlic up, about 6", at least until the deer find it ....
chives up about 2", can't wait for "new" potatoes with butter and chives, the peasant food of my childhood ;)

all the tomatoes are up and bountiful...i am losing my mind MJ says..sooo many varieties....fun tho...peppers are doing well and this year i started a bunch of flowers types...all took and I guess my grow light build over the past years works...yay me!...chkd the garden, chives and garlic are going strong...the soil is finally workable so potatoes in a bit...my absolute mountain of cast off plants over the years has finally turned to soil and i couldn't be happier...a natural compost heap...just keep throwing stuff on it and hope for the best and voilá!...soil....it only took 5 years...and i need it too, as the raised beds have settled quite a bit...so this stuff and well rotted chicken manure and things are looking pretty good at this point...a few more weeks of growing the seedlings and hardening them.off and its PLANTING time!!!!!!!...excited much????

If you don't plant the tree, you will never have the fruit...

I'm late getting my tomato seeds down ☹️
Maybe tomorrow. I went over board on peppers this year but we have lots to make with them. Hubby made "Grumpy Chicken Hot Sauce" last year lol. I think he has orders for it this year. I'm not doing cucs, melons, squash or zucchini this year in hopes of getting rid of some cuc beetles. And have agreed on no salsa this year so fewer tomatoes needed. I have huge geraniums under lights that I started mid January. They may bloom before I get them outside 🫤.

I'm going to try to grow some vegetables this year, but I may do it in a shed with them in containers. Some things like potatoes will get planted in the flower beds. The weather and the critters are hard on plants here. There are always a lot of flea beetles here because the farmers plant a lot of canola. Lots of gophers and rabbits already, and lots of high winds. I have some flowers planted under grow lights, cauliflower, cabbage, tomatoes, cantaloupe and watermelon.

This is what my garden looks like today. It's going to be a while before I can do any work in it.

I have no idea if it will work or not, but I just went and planted peas around my lilac hedge. Will see if they use it as a place to climb and vine. I had soaked and sprouted too many, but if it works, it may become my lazy man's way. Shall see.

Would it not be too shady ? I have a vision of the peas starting out up and then as the level on the lilac come in, just detaching and looking for some sunshine :)
