2021 garden thread
Re: 2021 garden thread
I've seen fireflies too, and most of my tomato plants have tomatoes on them already! Must have been that heatwave that caused it :).

Our fireflies still going strong, which makes the pup sit up in amazement on her last p-break at 10 pm, while I stand there being eaten by mosquitos, they are in abundance, the bats that live in our attic are obviously having their work cut out for them...

So @Farrier1987 sent me some strawberry plants last year. They have done very well and we just sat down to a bowl each with a glass of spanish fizz. This is what I remember strawberries tasting like as a child. Thanks Colin!

For the brussel sprouts growers...when do you start your plants? Indoors or direct seed? If you start indoors when do you transplant outside? And what bugs do I need to watch for?

Mine were purchased plants - gasp- and put out early May. They are doing well so far. Bissest pests here are chickens.

Intresting thing here. Got some day lillies from @Ontario Chick. Looks like one of them is reverting in a very pretty way.
First pick is what it did look like the second is this year.
