@Shnookie post on seed starting, made me wonder if the Narcissus bulbs I didn't quite get to plant last fall could be forced indoors, anybody has experience doing this ?
I would prefer water rather then soil medium, have cold storage to keep them until March / April
any suggestions ?

I have no experience as I'm not usually here for the winter, but I have read that they need a period of 12 weeks of cold. I've potted 3 containers of daffs and put them in the cold frame, hoping to haul them out in late Feb to cheer up the house. I should think you could leave bulbs in the fridge (or other cold storage area) for 12 weeks and grow them in water after that.

The ones I started in the house last year didn't bloom. I planted them outside anyway. Here is some information about forcing daffodils.

Thanks for posting the link Shnookie. 35-45F????? I think I'd better haul them out of the cold frame and put them in the garage where it's warmer!
Sorry that yours didn't flower. I should think they will be fine outside.

Popped some in a pot of soil and few in a glass container with pebbles and I think I am seeing first signs of life :)

The shoots are about 1" tall now, still in cold storage covered by paper, as I understand it I am supposed to wait until they are 2-4" tall to bring them out in to light ?????
patience not my strongest suit

So the bulbs are normally planted 6-7 inches deep-which is why the waiting until they are 4 inches tall before bringing them out. Fingers crossed that they bloom for you!

I will be happy if they just ad some greenery to the house, not very good with house plants, so this would be a major achievement :)

After about 4 weeks covered in cold storage brought in to light of day,
one interesting thing, the water level didn't seem to noticeably change in the glass container, so didn't water the soil container either.
I am pretty sure if I didn't see the water in the glass and pebble container, I would have drowned the soil pot.
pebbles and water only
soil only
